Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick

Rating: 2/5
Price: $26

I was extremely excited for these because I love almost all Urban Decay products, but I was very disappointed with these new lipsticks. The colours are amazing and very well pigmented and they aren't very sticky. However, I found they were super drying on my lips. I have tried high end and drugstore lipsticks and these are the most drying I have ever used. The colour would settle into every line on my lips and would dry them out. After 4 hours of being at work they left a weird film around my lips and the colour wasn't evenly dispersed. I have tried using a good quality lip balm underneath and I exfoliated my lips but it did not seem to help.

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer

Rating: 3.5/5
Price: $60

I've heard so many amazing things about this primer. It's oil free, has an spf, and it's made without all those harsh chemicals. I have very sensitive and oily skin and this face primer did not make me break out. It did make my makeup last longer and it made me look a bit less oily throughout the day, but there wasn't a huge noticeable difference. My face was not matte looking, it had a dewy finish. It did not minimize the look of my pores. Overall it does a fairly good job at reducing the oil on your face but I wouldn't recommend this because for the price it's not worth it.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick

                                  (Left): Softsilver Rose
                                  (Middle): Demure                              Rating: 3.5/5
                                  (Right): Coralberry
                                   Price: $8

These lipsticks are definitely super lustrous like they claim to be. They are very smooth and creamy on the lips and feel hydrating. These are not matte lipsticks, they have a very nice shiny appearance. They have a decent colour payoff, I personally wish they were a bit more vibrant like you see in the tube, however the colour is very buildable. The softer colour (Demure) is very sheer and not that noticeable on the lips. I also find they tend to crease a bit on my lips and they rub off quite easily. Softsilver Rose has the best staying power. It’s a very nice everyday pink with silver shimmer. Demure is very sheer and adds a nice shine to the lips. It reminds me of a lip gloss but it stays on longer since it’s a lipstick. Coralberry is a beautiful coral summer colour. For those of you who are intimidated on buying a bright coral lipstick try this one first. It is a pinkish orange colour and It’s not as bright as a traditional coral lipstick but it’s very buildable.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo Cream Eyeshadow

(Left): Bad to the Bronze
(Middle): Barely Branded
(Right): Tough as Taupe
Price: $7
Rating: 5/5

I absolutely love these. I was pleasantly surprised about how well they work. Since it’s the summer and these are cream eyeshadows I automatically assumed they would melt off my face but they stay on all day. They claim to be 24 hour but of course I haven’t worn them for a full 24 hours lol. They do not crease and the colour stays vibrant even if you rub your eyes. I use Urban Decay’s eyeshadow primer and it works great with these. Bad to the Bronze is an amazing bronze shimmery colour, it’s one of my favourites. Barely Branded is a great champagne highlight colour and I also use it on my entire lid and then add Tough as Taupe in the crease. It is very bright and shimmery. Tough as Taupe is my favourite colour from the collection. It looks more brown in the tube but it’s a very nice warm brownish grey colour. It is the only matte colour and I find it goes with almost everything. I love to use it in my crease. These eyeshadows work great as a base under eyeshadow but I prefer to use them on their own since the colour payoff is amazing. They also blend very well! The only complaint I have is that I wish there were more matte colours and they are veryyyyy hard to take off even with makeup remover. I feel like I have to rub my eyes very hard to get these off. If you haven’t tried these yet I highly suggest that you do! (:

Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain + Balm
Price: $10
Rating: 0.5/5

I've always wanted to try a lip stain so I tried this one from Revlon. I think what I was looking for was the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain but I accidentally got this one instead because their names are so similar. It was absolutely horrible. I hate everything about this product. It literally reminded me of a marker and it felt like one too. The tip was very hard and was uncomfortable to put on my lips. The colour was horrible. It didn't go on evenly and it made my lips very dry. The colour seeped into every line and crack in my lips and created random blotches of dark colour all over my lips. I wish I had a picture to show you how it looked but I took it off immediately. The balm was alright but nothing special and not very hydrating. I returned it the next day and was very disappointed.
